BIO

Helga Polikarpova is a cultural practitioner and filmmaker, working across the U.S. and U.K. She works at the intersection of documentary cinema, photography, and arts education. Her background includes post-production, arts administration, and multidisciplinary research, shaped through her studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of the Arts London.

Originally from Siberia, Russia, her artistic practice is grounded in an ongoing investigation of how cultural codes, power structures, and collective memory shape society and everyday life. She blends personal narrative with sociopolitical inquiry. As a cinematographer, she collaborates closely with artists to develop emotionally precise stories.

Beyond her film practice, she has managed art-community programs, organized public lectures, and created initiatives dedicated to developing critical and creative thinking among young people. She is currently working on an EdTech platform for culturally focused learning and producing short documentaries and animation works intended for festival circulation.
